picture taking

i really like photography. i guess it has slowly become a little hobby of mine. i guess. and as you can tell i especially like taking pictures at shows. it is quite the challenge though. between the moving crowds, my fellow picture takers, tall people, hand clappers, crowd surfers, stage proximity, lighting, and my hand constantly shaking (not a particularly good attribute for an aspiring photographer), the perfect shot can be very elusive. but i guess that makes a great picture that much more satisfying. anyways, absolutepunk.net, a little website i tend to frequent, has a little contest running right now where users can send in photos they've snapped from concerts throughout the year. no prizes or anything, just bragging rights for the winners. thought it would be fun to send some of my stuff in so i did. we were limited to only three so here are the ones i went with:





had trouble picking only three, but i settled on these.

i will hopefully be uploading some more pictures soon. took some at the underoath / august burns red / emery show but the crazy crowd made everything come out blurry. i do have basketball pictures to post eventually so look forward to those.

hello hurricane...

haven't been on here in a while... kinda in a weird mood tonight. i can't really explain it. but moving on...

let's see, i picked up the new switchfoot and dashboard confessional albums today along with UP on dvd.

haven't had much time to dive into the dashboard album but what i've heard so far has been pretty decent. it came packaged with a bonus cd of the entire album done acoustically. i have a feeling that's the version i'm going to prefer.

looking forward to seeing UP again but i promised my love i would wait and watch it with her. absolutely cannot wait to snuggle up with her and watch a great movie.

most of my attention tonight has been devoted to the new switchfoot album, hello hurricane. so far, so good. there are some absolutely amazing songs on this record. can't wait to get the chance to sit down with the lyrics and totally embrace the music. watched the documentary dvd that came packaged with the cd. always great to see the inspiration for an artist's work. after listening to this album a couple of times, it got me thinking about which switchfoot album is my favorite. haven't decided yet, maybe more on that later.

just rambling tonight... nothing of any real importance to say. watched another episode of how i met your mother. trying to catch up on all the episodes i have missed so far this season. the one i watched tonight was absolutely hilarious, one of the best i've seen in a while. i really love this show.

might start painting some this week. nothing fancy, just some fooling around i guess.
