today was a great day for new comics. check out all of the sweet goodies...

the incredible hulk #2 - COVER OF THE WEEK!!! and definitely in the running for cover of the year! me being a shark nut may sway my opinion slightly, but there's no way you can deny the awesomeness of this cover. wow. wow. wow.

ultimate x-men #3 - i really like the idea for this cover. creative for sure.

amazing spider-man #674

deadpool #46 - i enjoy seeing dialogue on a cover every now and then. even if it is a cheesy deadpool pun.

the punisher #1 - this one's been out for a few months, but i picked it up today for a nice discount.

justice league #3 - jim lee. perfect as always.

batman #3 - runner up for cover of the week. capullo's art for this series has been nothing short of fantastic.

severed #4 - second snyder book of the day. that alone makes today's stack great. i love that the covers for this series have all had a unifying element. and i also love how the image logo is incorporated into the creative design of the cover and that the barcode is on the back. sometimes it's the little things.

uncanny x-force #17 - COVER OF THE WEEK! another issue, another great x-force cover. sets the mood perfectly for the superb story inside. i love this series so freakin' much.

avenging spider-man #1 - consider me a fan of this new spidey series. a huge fan. this is the "summer blockbuster" book of spider-man titles. there's not any big ideas or thought provoking story lines just over-the-top action, awesome team-ups, and excellent one-liners from the web-head. great book.

penguin: pain and prejudice #2 - runner-up for COTW! this cover is awesome. a fantastic idea executed nicely by the artist. great work.

pizza! pizza!

this is a little project that i've been wanting to work on for awhile and finally got around to it this week... a screen-printed, build-able, miniature pizza shop! how awesome is that?! i purchased the kit from the fine folks over at tiny showcase. check out the construction pics below and get a look at the first visitors to my new pizza place! :)

the kit arrived in my mailbox as a flat, four-color screen-print on laser-cut birch wood...

each kit features a unique serial number. i love the little imperfections from the screen-printing...

and here is the finished product! it measures about 4 inches tall...

and look who came by for a slice... invisible creature's george and salvatore!

i can't wait to see who might show up at my new pizza shop next!

this little project was a great idea and a ton of fun. i would love to see more screen-printed sculptures soon!

infinite vacation #3 - this series continues after a six-month layoff. the worst thing about single issue comics are huge delays like this one.

the strange talent of luther strode #2 - hopefully this second issue lives up to the awesomeness of the debut. great cover.
