the big, huge, epic release this week was of course fantastic four #587, in which one of marvel's first family dies. so i bought into all the hype and picked this one up, and boy am i glad i did. what an amazing issue!
each book came in a "death bag" black polybag to preserve the secret for as long as possible...
and here is the actual cover... amazing.
to go along with the above, here is FF #583 and #584. the local shops were out of #585 and #586 which i also need to complete the story but that didn't keep me from reading #587 haha. i wouldn't have made it to next week without the deadly conclusion being spoiled for me!
next up we have detective comics #873. COVER OF THE WEEK!
everything about this release is phenomenal. the cover is another beautiful, classic piece and the story was simply amazing. a great conclusion to the current arc. i am loving this team of scott snyder (writer) and jock (artist). if they continue to put out quality issues like these past three, i could see this being one of, if not my favorite release every month.
uncanny x-force #4 - this was my favorite series from 2010 and now they've started 2011 off with a bang. no complaints whatsoever about this one.
deadpool #32 - definitely not my favorite cover of the week (it's pretty gross) but deadpool continues to be a top-notch book. i had so much fun (like always) reading this one.
age of x - alpha - this is the start of a new parallel x-men universe mini-series. mutants are close to extinction and are fighting for their survival in this dystopian world. i have high hopes for these books, i hope they deliver.
x-men #7 - the x-team is headed back to new york for a team-up with you friendly neighborhood spider-man. this one should be fun. so glad to be done with the vampires...
x-23 #5 - this one is great just because it features gambit. i haven't even read it yet and i know i'll love it. the cajun even made it on the cover! awesome.
x-men: to serve and protect #3 - last time i checked thor and she-thor (lady thor? thora?) weren't x-men...
namor the first mutant #6 - namor goes to hell! this issue meets marvel's new quota of having at least one of their characters in the fiery pits of hell at every moment... wolvie out, namor in. who's next?
the traveler #3 - like soldier zero from last week, this one is on a short leash...
and last but oh so most definitely not least...
darth vader and the lost command #1 - been anticipating this one for awhile now...
